I chose a newspaper editorial to work from: These are the keywords I underlined that convey the meaning of the piece: pleasure, listening, lifestyle, support system, daily lives, radio, consistent, upbeat tone, happier, more, energy, powerful, boost, consumer, happiness, radio generated, vehicle, positive, finances, family, work.
I found this photo stock pic as reference for my illustration.
This is the pencil sketch of my idea. I created an image about a man who is air punching with facial expressions that are perfect for conveying the emotive qualities I need to have in my illustration. This has been a quick decision. I’m all for the idea, few other possibilities exist.
It’s so right for the words that describe the article.
Final drawing in black pen and what have I learned? I should be exploring many different ideas and then take a look at what works best. I feel I haven't explored enough for this exercise. I see in retrospect that exploration is the purpose here.
